Economy may have pushed crime upward (The Daily World)

Hoquiam police statistics show significant increases in almost all serious crimes in 2009 when compared to the relatively quiet previous year. Chief Jeff Myers said he believes the recession may have played a role in driving up property and drug crimes last year.
